It's almost time for the rush of early evening dinner, and there's only one question: What is a traditional American restaurant? I can't think of a better question than Waffle House, one of Arkansas "most popular restaurants. This eatery is located just a few blocks from the Arkansas State Capitol and it's almost at the time of a lunch break rush. Located on the outskirts of Little Rock, Waffles House is the cheapest restaurant in town and a favorite of many Arkansas residents and visitors.
For $5.99, you can get a two-egg version with a choice of eggs, bacon, sausage and a side of French fries, all served two eggs per style. I could appreciate breakfast if I could afford something more than a fried honey bread.

Burnell's created the Arkansas original on Duke Drive in the 1950s, but it was demolished in 1970 and rebuilt at its original location on the city's east side. The restaurant was built in a used slab-style building of businessman Woody Mays "Russellville motel, which he operated in his motel. It housed a full-service bar, a barber shop and a restaurant with a large outdoor terrace.
The family-run restaurant prides itself on preserving a cozy atmosphere and typical dishes to bring people back for more. It's 66 years since the restaurant was built in just six days, but it's reopened, offering amazing dinners and favorites without giving up its 24-hour schedule. At least that's what people and visitors to Russellville think when they settle into Burnell's, one of the city's local gems.
